Information for Patients

You require a referral from your Doctor to see Dr Bartlett for an appointment. Your Doctor will decide if an appointment with an Endocrinologist will be helpful for your condition.

Making an Appointment
If you are referred to Dr Bartlett, then you can ring the rooms on 9725-3003 to make an appointment. Dr Bartlett sees patients at Mooroolbark and Cowes. Please see the Locations tab for more information. The secretary will send out more information to you after you make your appointment.

There is usually a 4-6 week wait for new appointments in Melbourne, but the wait for new patients at Cowes is currently close to 3 months. If the matter is urgent please notify the secretary and ask your GP to fax through your referral with more information. You can also go onto a waiting list to be offered an earlier appointment if it becomes available.

Changing or Cancelling your Appointment
Please call 9725-3003 to change or cancel your appointment. Please notify us as early as possible to allow for other patients to fill the consultation slot.

Costs
There is usually an out of pocket charge for all appointments. Please note that Health Care Card holders and Pensioners are not routinely bulk-billed. Please ask the secretary for more details of the current fees. Payment is expected on the day of appointment via credit card or EFTPOS. We can submit the claim to Medicare on the day of your consultation and usually the rebate will be in your account within 24 hours.

What to bring to your appointment
  • A referral is essential for your first appointment. You will be notified if you need a repeat referral from your GP for review consultations (usually required every 12 months).
  • All relevant recent Radiology films (X-Rays/Ultrasounds/DEXA Scans/etc).
  • A list of all of your medications that you actually take (or alternatively bring them in their boxes)
  • Also bring the name/contact details of other specialists that you see for other conditions.
If you are diabetic please bring the following with you: your blood glucose meter, your blood sugar record book preferably with recent blood sugars recorded, and your insulin pens (if relevant, only bring 1 of each type that you use).
